The Strakka Estate was founded during the period of Venetian rule in Cyprus some five hundred years ago. The Estate has had a continuous history of olive oil production since that time. Some of these original trees still exist and continue to yield olives of the highest quality.
The Estate is situated a short distance from the medieval walled city of Nicosia, with picturesque views of the Troodos and Kyrenia mountain ranges.
Organic farming was introduced by the current owners, the Leventis family, who acquired the estate in 1942. Today all production is entirely organic and this is responsible for the unique character and high quality of Strakka Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. |
