First appearing in 1570 the Theatrum went through five major editions with revisions and continued to be published until 1612. During this period, over seventy three hundred copies were printed in seven different languages (Latin, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and English) – a remarkable figure for the time.
It was within these first workings of Abraham Ortelius that the Strakka Estate was first recognised, appearing as it was then know as “Sorracha”. For some 500 years the Strakka Estate has been producing olive oil.
